Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! I’m Beatrice (Bea) and after joining the SG team for a summer internship this year, they invited me to stay part time while I’m finishing my studies.
As a Digital Marketing Executive, I’m working closely with the rest of our marketing team on blog posts, social media content, events and so many more exciting projects and campaigns for us, and our clients.
How did you get here?
I lived and worked in London five years ago and since then it was my dream to come back one day. So after finishing my undergrad degree in Germany, I decided to take the plunge and move to London to do my MA in Marketing.
Ending up at Studio Graphene was more a happy coincidence than anything else. Thanks to the network of my landlord, I work in a pretty awesome agency now!
How do you find that translates into your role at Studio Graphene?
Everything I’ve done before starting at Studio Graphene has helped me in terms of work mentality and how to approach tasks.
After high school I worked as a Concierge Assistant in a Hotel, which definitely taught me to stay professional no matter how difficult customers can be. After my undergrad I was part of the HR events team at Deutsche Telekom which came in quite handy when organising and preparing for events with Studio Graphene. Finally, all the theoretical knowledge I gain at university helps me understand why we do things the way we do in Marketing.
How is Studio Graphene different from other agencies you’ve worked with / for?
When I first met Studio Graphene, I wasn’t really expecting a lot. Not because I didn’t believe they would be anything else than great but because I’ve never worked in Digital Marketing before and I wasn’t sure if I could add anything valuable.
However, they gave me the opportunity to learn, the room to grow and something that we all need at one point - a chance to start!
What’s the most exciting piece of innovation or development you’ve discovered recently?
Not new but always fun - Elf Yourself
What do you think the ‘next big thing’ in tech is going to be?
I’m pretty sure VR is going to become bigger over the next few years but I’d say the next huge consumer trend is going to be self driven cars.
How worried are you about the rise of the machines?
I’m super excited and absolutely terrified at the same time!
What’s your spirit animal?
Well, depending on which website you trust it’s either a cat or a bear.
I’m not super happy with either descriptions though, so I will go with my own choice:
(The dolphin is a complex animal and has had many different meanings attached to it throughout history, including: Peace and harmony, Protection, Playfulness and joy, Resurrection, Inner Strength, Cooperation)
What does your failsafe playlist contain?
It is mid November so the Christmas playlist is back on and so are Wham!, The Jackson 5 and many more - woohoo!
