Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Jess, and I’m the Digital Marketing Manager at Studio Graphene.
How did you get here?
Before Studio Graphene, I was the Marketing Executive at a tech company specialising in video analytics.
How do you find that translates into your role at Studio Graphene?
My previous company gave me insights into the tech industry and startups (as it was one!) It also equipped me with actionable marketing skills (jargon alert) which are of course helpful when embarking on a new marketing role.
How is Studio Graphene different from other agencies you’ve worked with/for?
It’s pretty different in that I haven’t worked for a marketing agency before, which was quite a steep learning curve to begin with! But, my experience in this industry is what attracted me to this role, so it’s been nice to be able to continue learning more about the digital world.
What’s the most exciting piece of kit/software/design thinking you’ve discovered recently?
I’m not sure if this is a bit of a boring answer but I recently got a Monzo card and it has kiiiiiinda changed my life.
What do you think the ‘next big thing’ in tech is going to be?
Fingers crossed for driverless cars as I am still yet to learn to drive…
How worried are you about the rise of the machines?
On the scale, I’d say I’m less worried about it than the impending doom associated with climate change, but more worried about it than a pandemic style illness wiping out the population. So quite worried, yeah.
What's your spirit animal?
According to spiritanimal.info my spirit animal is a wolf because of my “instinct, intelligence, appetite for freedom, and awareness of the importance of social connections”. This sounds quite lofty and before taking this quiz I was going to write seal, but am happy to go with being a wolf.
What does your failsafe playlist contain?
